Business process consulting that fixes the process before the software

Orders requiring four signatures, data entered three times, approvals stalled while one person is on leave. Before you buy or build, we map how work really happens and simplify it with the people who do it.

The documented process and the operating process rarely match

Ask a manager how an order is processed and you hear the official version. Observe it and you see the shortcuts, side spreadsheets and messages that actually keep work moving. Those workarounds hold valuable knowledge, and they are also where errors enter.

We map the operating reality, interview the people at each step and measure where time and errors accumulate. Recommendations are practical: remove a step, merge two forms, change who approves what. Some require software. Many do not.

What we build

Processes we are most often asked to review

  • Order to cash

From enquiry through quotation, order, delivery, invoice and collection, where every delay has a direct cash cost.

  • Procure to pay

Requisitions, approvals, vendor selection, goods receipt and payment, where control and speed pull in opposite directions.

  • Service delivery

How a job moves from booking to completion and sign-off in service and maintenance businesses.

  • Onboarding

Customer, vendor or employee onboarding, where missing documents and repeated questions frustrate every party.

How we work

How a process engagement runs

  1. Step 1: Walk the process

We follow live cases end to end and interview the people at each step, including those rarely consulted.

  2. Step 2: Map and measure

A clear current-state map with time, rework and error points identified.

  3. Step 3: Redesign workshops

Working sessions with your team to simplify the flow. Changes come from the people who will operate them.

  4. Step 4: Automation decisions

Which steps of the improved process warrant software support, and which simply need to be done differently.

  5. Step 5: Rollout support

Revised SOPs, checklists and training, with a review after thirty days to confirm what has held.

FAQ

Questions about business process consulting

Is this primarily about reducing headcount?

No. The usual outcome is fewer errors, faster turnaround and less friction. Where time is freed, most organisations redirect it to work that was being neglected.

Are we obliged to buy software afterwards?

No. Many improvements are changes in responsibility or a better form. Where software helps, we specify what kind, and you choose who builds it.

How disruptive is the review?

We need a few hours with each person involved, spread across two or three weeks. Normal operations continue.

Which process generates the most complaints?

Tell us. It is usually the right place to begin.
